The Threadless Store, located on a hip stretch of road in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood (3011 N. Broadway), is the first retail location for the Threadless T-Shirt Company. The Threadless Store gives the company a location to hold special events, as well as place where you can go and try on some of their T-Shirts before you make a purchase.

Threadless provides artists the opportunity to submit their artwork online, and then after some voting, potentially have that artwork turned into a limited edition T-Shirt – which is then sold online and at the Threadless Store. Artists are awarded a $2,000 prize, along with some additional bonuses. Threadless releases new T-Shirts every week, premiering the new shirts every Friday at The Threadless Store.

While The Threadless Store offers only a limited selection of their T-Shirts – about 25 shirts are available in the store – it is a fun experience, and a neat place to visit. Each T-Shirt has a video screen that displays photos and fun ideas for the given T-Shirt. The top floor of the facility hosts temporary art displays, design workshops and maybe a funky party on occasion.
