The Taste of Chicago is big but it is the worst food festival. The food is overpriced for sure. The amount given is small. The quality of the food is worse than the Metra station food court at Washington st. The crowd is of very bad quality. I spent $30 to just fill my stomach. a cup of beer costs $6. A small piece of spare rib costs $8 etc. Will never go to the show again. It is definitely not for family to go.

The Taste of Chicago is one of the most interesting that Chicago has to offer. The Taste has so many different types of food. So go when ever you have a chance. It has a lot of entertainment as well as food. When you are there make sure you try some different foods. The best way to get there is also by train if you live in the suburbs of Chicago. Also while you are out there stop by Millenium Park and cool off by the water area.

Sorry but it no longer is worth going on some of the days because of the violence. You have many ignorant people that are there for the most stupid reasons! Almost one fourth of the people that are there are high off drugs and are only there to eat for munchies! Its becoming very dangerous and as a resident of Chicago all of my life I honestly think they should not have the Olympics because of what happened at the Taste of Chicago this past summer of 2008.

Me and my BFF go EVERY year and would not miss it for the world! Sure, it gets a bit crowded, but we have a full-proof system. We get the Taste of Chicago book beforehand, highlight the “must haves” and “would like to try” and map out are route! We usually go on a Saturday at opening time, do what we came to do (eat like slobs!) and make our way home before the ‘evening’ crowds. I have learned not to go over the limit! I was moaning and groaning so bad on the train ride home one time, I thought the conductor was going to put me off! ha!!

I live in Chicago and love the Taste Of Chicago. I never miss it. The best way to do it, whether a weekday or on the weekend, is get there at just about 11:00 or Noon, and have lunch. The crowds don’t really start to swell until afternoon. I would agree, however, avoid going on July 3rd at all cost!!
