The One of a Kind Art Show and Sale is coming to the Merchandise Mart, December 6-9, 2007. The art show takes place on the 8th floor of the Merchandise Mart (200 Merchandise Mart Place) with a $10 entry fee ($7 for students & seniors). Tickets are available at this website. The art show is open Thursday noon-9pm; Friday 11am-8pm; Saturday 10am-8pm; Sunday 10am-5pm;

The Merchandise Mart has a lot of art shows like this throughout the year, and they tend to draw a pretty large crowd from what I’ve seen. There are a lot of “Special Events” going on through the course of the art show, so here are a few that I have picked out:

Opening Day benefiting Children’s Memorial Hospital
Shop Opening Day on Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. and you will get art show “first picks” while benefiting Children’s Memorial Hospital! All Merchandise Mart Art Show ticket sales on Thursday will be donated to Children’s Memorial. A number of exhibiting artists will also be reaching out by donating a percentage of Thursday’s sales. Enjoy special drinks and entertainment throughout the day!

Friday Night at the District
The place to be Friday night is the Merchandise Mart Art Show Fashion District! Join us for a Fashion District Trend Show, special expert presentations and cocktails compliments of DiVine — the new Michigan-made luxury vodka handcrafted from grapes! The Fashion District Stage, Southeast side of floor.

After Hours at bluprint
The Merchandise Mart, North Lobby
Enjoy special One of a Kind cocktails at bluprint Saturday night after the Show. Be creative and build your own drink from a list of thirst quenchable ingredients!
