McCormick Place will host Chicago’s Holiday Sports Festival from December 18-19, 2010. The Holiday Sports Festival will run from 10am-4pm each day and admission is free.

The Holiday Sports Festival features numerous interactive zones, including Trampolines, Climbing Walls, Football, Obstacle Course, Tot’s Zone, Inflatable Tumbling, Boxing, Giant Slide, Skateboarding Area, and over 15 other activities. Demonstrations will include local drum lines, hip hop and salsa dancing, and martial arts.

One important note is that while there will be open court Volleyball and Basketball, you will need to bring your own ball.

What began as a basketball only tournament named Holiday Hoops in 2000 became Mayor Daley’s Holiday Sports Festival. Envisioned by Mayor Daley, the end result now encompasses both tournaments and interactive zones. Combined, the event attracts approximately 85,000 people annually over a period of three days. The event like its predecessor Holiday Hoops takes place at McCormick Place and is produced by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events, other partners include the Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Park District.
