The Chicago CTA has begun installing Credit Card Machines which will allow you to use your major credit card to purchase and reload your farecards. The first five CTA Credit Card Machines are located at the O’Hare, Merchandise Mart, Clark & Lake, Adams/Jackson (blue) and Midway CTA rail stations. The CTA Credit Card Machines require a minimum purchase of $5 and will allow only a maximum of $25 per credit card per day.
After a 30-day trial period, the CTA is expected to install 55 additional Credit Card Machines at CTA rail stations across Chicago. Check the official CTA Credit Card Machines press release.
