Chicago Criterium
The first annual Chicago Criterium bike race will take place in Chicago’s Grant Park on Sunday, July 27, 2008. With 10 races throughout the day, the first race starts at 7:00am and the final race will begin at 2:25pm.

The Chicago Criterium is a short-course bike race that will take place on a 1.1 mile loop through Chicago’s Grant Park. The Chicago Criterium start/finish line will be on Columbus Drive in front of the Buckingham Fountain, with several options for viewing different portions of the criterium course.

The Chicago Bike Valet will be open during the Chicago Criterium. There will also be a Big Wheel Race for Children ages 2 to 7. For more information, visit the official Chicago Criterium website.

Chicago Criterium

The Chicago Criterium series of races will captivate spectators with its fast paced straight-aways and tight 90-degree turns in the heart of Grant Park. A criterium or “crit” is a cycling race held in a closed circuit loop and is approximately 1.1 miles in length. The high speed left turn action begins on Columbus Drive heading north to East Jackson Boulevard, south on Michigan Avenue, east on Balbo Avenue, then back to Columbus Drive.
