Chicago Bike The Drive
Chicago’s annual Bike The Drive event will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Bike The Drive offers bike enthusists the opportunity to ride up and down Lakeshore Drive, where the cars usually rule. For safety, all participants are required to start at Columbus and Jackson where you may choose to travel North or South. There are several turnarounds a rest areas.

Riders will be allowed to Bike The Drive beginning at 5:30am. All riders must be north of Randolph or south of Roosevelt by 9 a.m, when the downtown stretch of Lakeshore Drive will be reopened to automobile traffic. Lakeshore Drive will be completely cleared of bike traffic at 9:45am, so start early. Helmets are not required but are encouraged.

After Bike The Drive, Bank of America will host a festival in Grant Park. The Bike The Drive Festival will feature American English, a world renown Beatles tribute band (9am-11am) and Goose Island Brewery will offer 3 breakfast options available for purchase.
