This past week saw the release of Acoustic Chicago, a CD and DVD combo that highlights the work of 13 Chicago musicians. Acoustic Chicago was recorded at Chicago Recording Company and contains 17 tracks, each with an accompanying video on the DVD. The purpose of Acoustic Chicago is to help give local artists a vehicle to advance them to the next level in their careers.
The biggest name on the Acoustic Chicago CD/DVD is Marty Casey and The Lovehammers, but there is plenty of amazing music to be found throughout Acoustic Chicago’s 17 tracks. There are a few repeat performers (Malcolm Palmer appears on three tracks), but most artists get one track to showcase their musical and songwriting talents.

I was lucky enough to make it to the Acoustic Chicago CD/DVD release party. Excellent music. I love the new song by Lovehammers, “Driving Blind,” that is on the CD!
